Pope Benedict XVI to resign on February 28

Pope Benedict XVI  is resigning because of advanced age. Pope Benedict's statement to cardinals today announcing his resignation:
"Strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months, has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognize my incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted to me."
He is 85 and will turn 86 on April 16. and was elected pope in 2005.. Pope Benedict XVI will resign on February 28.
