Yesterday two suspected Islamists attempted to behead and disembowel a Soldier as he left a barracks. The slaughter took place 200 yards from The Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich and close to a primary school at 2.20pm.
The name of one of the suspects was revealed on internet forums and Twitter as Michael Adebolajo. He is a 28-year-old Londoner of Nigerian descent; born in Lambeth, grew up in east London. There are still members of his family living in the area.
“He was a student at Greenwich University, but it is not clear what he was studying there. Already on Facebook there are comments from former pupils say that they went to school with him in east London.”
It was revealed that this men, who are being treated in separate hospitals while under arrest, are most likely to be British citizens of Nigerian descent who have converted to a radical form of Islam.
Ingrid Loyau-Kennett, 48 is a mother-of-two, a cub scout leader from Cornwall who tried to help with first aid on the guy killed thought it was an accident but then then saw the guy was dead.
According to report this was the response from one of the suspects when she interrogated him.
‘what do you want?’ I asked him if he did it and he said yes, and I said: ‘Why?’ And he said because he has killed Muslim people in Muslim countries, he said he was a British solider and I said, really? And he said: ‘I killed him because he killed Muslims and I am fed up with people killing Muslims in Afghanistan, they have nothing to do there.’”Although, they are not thought to have links to terror groups based in Nigeria, such as the jihadist militant organisation Boko Haram.
